About the Creator

Rachel Phipps is an Australian paramedic who discovered through her own mental health journey the profound ways ordinary things can stir powerful emotions. A scent, a sound, or a simple object can unlock vivid memories - sometimes tender, sometimes painful, always deeply human.

Out of this experience she created Echoes of Things, a storytelling project that captures simple photographs of everyday objects and pairs them with the memories people share in interviews. Each story reveals the hidden emotional resonance woven into the mundane, showing how small details can carry immense meaning.

Through her work, Rachel hopes to create a space where stories spark connection, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for the echoes we all carry.
